Welcome to Bom Baa Kopitiam 消防咖啡店, a delightful café nestled along the scenic Seh Tan Jetty in George Town, Penang. If you're seeking a cozy spot to enjoy authentic local cuisine while soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of this cultural hotspot, then look no further!

Step inside and be greeted by the aromas of the kitchen wafting through the air, where traditional Malaysian dishes come alive. This café is particularly renowned for its Hokkien noodles, priced affordably, with the small portion just RM5. The broth is a flavor explosion, perfectly seasoned and enriched with notes that will keep you coming back for more. Diners, like Tee Chee Ming, have praised the medium-sized portion that includes tender prawns, a boiled egg, and a succulent piece of chicken—a perfect harmony of textures and flavors, especially when paired with a dollop of spicy sambal.

But that's not all! If you're feeling adventurous, try the Asam Laksa. Ling Zy raved about the deep, spicy broth simmered for six hours, showcasing the dedication of the chef to bring an authentic taste right to your table. It’s a dish that not only won over a local Penangite but also impressed an American visitor—a testament to its irresistible allure.

The dining experience at Bom Baa Kopitiam is laid-back, offering comfortable seating that's perfect for casual lunch breaks or leisurely afternoons spent enjoying good food and company. Found this stall nearby the jetty food court. Ordered the hokkien prawn noddle small and it only costs RM5. The portion is medium but it tastes so good. The soup is very tasty and good when eating with sambal. There are also small prawn, boiled egg and chicken piece. Highly recommend.

Had the Hokkien noodles (prawn noodles), small one is RM 5, good tasting but not spectacular. Comfortable seating, and many other choices of food for lunch time. Iced black coffee is RM1.60.

Authentic hokkien mee and good to try, new stall Thai pork knuckle rice is a must try if you are having lunch here. The bad thing are no sufficient place for car parking only.

I came here with my boss from the US. As a local Penangite, I stumbled upon this place and stopped for a drink, but I couldn’t resist trying the asam laksa. Wow!! The soup My American boss loved it just as much as I did. According to the chef, he simmered the soup for six hours—now that’s dedication.. No wonder it tastes so good.

Omg, we came just by coincidence as we were hungry and this place was near our hotel and it was fantastic! THE best laksa in town with very generous ingredients, also decent Char Kuay Teow and Hokkien Mee, as well as really great Durians. Friendly service and nice atmosphere. We came back twice and always loved it.

Charming local coffee shop with a hearty bowl of Hokkien Mee! They've also got laksa and assorted fried noodles and Western dishes for all your local cuisine tastes. Staff (and some of the regulars) are extremely friendly. There's parking behind between Bom Baa and the actual bomba (that's fire station for those of you playing at home). Nice spacious place to chill and watch the traffic zoom by. Gets busy in the evening since it's in the tourist zone next to the Penang clan jetties.

Great food for excellent prices. Clean seating area. Hand wash station available. Lots of fans to keep you cool. The staff here speak Mandarin, barely any Cantonese and almost no English. No WiFi.
